Luca must have had my camera while we were getting ready this morning because I found quite a few photos of his toys/random shots of things in our room. This one, of various reptiles, was my personal favorite.
Monday, May 7th
The problem with getting behind on this blog is not remembering what we did two months prior. And all I have to show for it is the above video, so I am guessing we had a low key day full of dance parties, per usual.

I love seeing his handwriting evolve. He is growing up too quickly!
I went to get him after his rest time was over but he had fallen asleep, in that position.
Running around with daddy after he gets home from work is our nightly ritual, regardless of the temperature outside. The only thing that stops it from happening is a thunderstorm. Because even if it is just raining, we still usually go run around in it.
Wednesday, May 9th
On school days, Jack doesn't usually finish his breakfast before we leave to drop Luca off (not because there isn't time so much as when Luca is done, Jack is also done). So when we get home from dropping him off, we usually finish breakfast before his am nap.
Morning hangs with him are my favorite.
Lunch time shenanigans.
After Luca's rest time, while Jack was still asleep, he set up an area for us to play together.
I have been working really hard at trying to get the boys to eat new foods. Currently, I usually make at least 2-3 different dinners every night. Not only do I want them to be eating well balanced healthy meals, but I also would rather not be a short order cook. This was my attempt this night, our dinner was their dinner (chicken, quinoa, cauliflower). It did not go well. Not at all.
Thursday, May 10th
Luca's school hosted a Mother's Day Tea this day, so I stopped working for a bit to go to that in the morning. It was the best, they sang songs for us, made us projects, had cupcakes, and had a big banner decorated on the wall behind them. It was super cute. It felt really surreal that I was attending a Mother's Day event, for my child who is old enough to be in school.
I could literally eat him up.
Luca's contributions to the banner- his name (above) and Rescue Bots (below).
During rest time, he drew me some flowers.
After I finished working, we worked on these pages for part of his teachers' end of the year gifts.
Daddy took us out to Chick Fil A for dinner this night, because dinner was such a disaster the night before. These two diligently worked on the sticker by number picture.
While they worked, Jack ate ALL the food.
Friday, May 11th
I started the day off by going to the gym.
I am not sure what prompted this little photo shoot, but these two boys sure are the cutest.
Luca hit his head and Jack was comforting him.
I love seeing these two play together, even though it doesn't always last long, I love it.
My dad came over this day to stay with Jack while I took Luca to the dentist. Luca has not done well at the dentist in the past, at all. He is terrified of the chair, the tools that go in his mouth, the light, basically all the things. At his appointment 6 months prior, I had Jack with us and it was a disaster. Both boys were screaming and crying and needing to be on my lap, while I was literally praying out loud over them and trying to get Luca to calm down and let them look in his mouth. This appointment went SO much better. Luca did have to lay on me in the chair, but he did everything else LIKE A CHAMP! I was so grateful!
When Pops went to leave, Luca was bummed that he didn't get to see him much.
Sweet vacuuming stance, like a pro.
Playing outside waiting for Auntie to arrive and daddy to get home from work.
Jack was obsessed with this ice scraper for a few days. It was his favorite toy- brought it everywhere with him. I had to explain what it was to Luca because, my sweet southern babies have no idea!
Saturday, May 12th
Just doing some organizing.
Soccer!
After we got home from soccer, we watched Abby graduate with her Master's degree. How cool is technology that we could watch her walk across that stage?! We were all cheering and jumping up and down as if we were there, we were (and still are) so proud!
Sarah and I worked on a project (more details coming soon!) so Lee took both boys for the afternoon.
At church they had a Mother's Day memory verse game. We both had to recite the bible verse together in order for him to play. We practiced it all week long, but when it was time to play he got a little bit nervous. After a few minutes and some pep talks, he worked up the courage to do it and loved it. He won me that flower!
At church, we also picked up our gift from Jack's dedication. They framed a picture of our family from the dedication and gave Jack that bible, which he was obsessed with (clearly).
Luca saw this book on his book shelf and thought Jack would like to read it, so he put it next to his door so that we could put it in his room by his chair to read the next night (Jack was already asleep when Luca found it). I love the little things like this where you can see how much Luca loves Jack.
