Lee took Jack to the doctor this morning. He had a really bad sore throat, since it was his only symptom I thought we should test for strep. Luca, who HATES a throat culture felt so badly for him and decided to make him Sonic decor for when he got home. (They’re currently very into Sonic thanks to a new show on Netflix.)
Her cheeks are my favorite.
Luca had just finished 20 wall walks and was cracking us up.

I asked the boys to put a blanket out with some of Olive’s toys on it for me while I changed her diaper. We were going to do their math lesson on the floor while she played. How they set it up was so cute. The boys love a good set up.
The ruffle bum kills me!
I asked the boys to put their protein in the fridge and this is how they did it. They said they were soldiers on guard. Kids are so fun. Every time I opened the fridge, I laughed. And also couldn’t easily reach food I needed to grab. It was worth the extra few seconds it took to navigate through though.

Sweet girl at the gym, watching momma and all her strong friends lift heavy things.
Monkey see, monkey do. The workout this day was extra hard, but when I saw Luca mimicking it (with his own version of weighted step ups) at the end, I knew it was beyond worth it.
Mirror selfies with my girl. I’m not sure why I started taking these, but I’m so glad I did because it gave me the sweetest Live Photo of the best moment. I was snapping and Olive, all on her own, went in to give me a smooch! I loved it then and I love watching it over and over in the live.
(The beginning of her smooch.)
After my shower and before school, the boys and I didn’t make great choices. I put myself in time out, closed my bedroom door and told the Lord I needed help. After a few minutes, I walked back out to see these two sweet faces holding up “I’m very sorry” signs taped to pencils and they had put an Elevation sermon on the TV. We all apologized to one another and started over.
What happened next still has me speechless. After the apologies, we started our Bible lesson where we read about how Jesus often broke all the rules (in Love Does for kids) and then how Jesus, with all authority chose to wash His disciples feet (in John 13). We talked about it, and as our conversation ended Luca quietly got up and gathered the supplies to wash our feet. Then we all took turns doing it.
It was such a powerful lesson, for so many reasons, and it was one I never could have written or prepared for. Especially after our rough start to school prior- God’s grace never ceases to amaze me. I think that’s my favorite part of homeschool, seeing what lessons God writes for us (myself included) each day. I feel extremely grateful to get to do this. Even on hard days and in hard moments.
The boys added decor to their bedroom door and didn’t want Olive to feel left out so they decorated her door too.
More mealtime pics because I just can’t help myself.

WOD notes.
We are currently doing a snatch/overhead squat cycle. I am working on overhead squats, gaining physical strength and mental strength/confidence to squat with heavy weight overhead. I tend to lose control at the bottom of a squat, but this cycle is helping me to slowly and intentionally squat and stand it back up.
Making dinner with my girl.

After the gym, I like to let Olive play and be free on the floor for a few before her am nap. Luca sat with her so I could get him something he needed from a high shelf. I came back but he didn’t leave and then he wrapped his arms around her. Sweet brother love.
I loved Luca’s answer to this reading response question.
Jack’s drawing are getting so good! I was so proud of all his drawings this day. He drew like 8-10 and put them in a little book that he offered to me for $10.20.

If I don’t write down what I did during the workout and take a picture of it, I forget it by the time I enter it into sugar wod. This workout was 22.3 from the open, which I did back in March of 2022 when Olive was in my belly. I definitely “improved” since then- 34ish weeks pregnant vs 8 months postpartum. I could do the jump rope and heavier thrusters now. Also I don’t think I even finished it back in March.
After the gym I placed grocery orders, finished school for the week with the boys, and rested while watching Wodapalooza trying to catch a glimpse of our friend and coach competing. This girl was beside me, happy as could be.

Before the gym I don’t typically get Olive dressed out of her pajamas as long as they’re clean. It’s easiest and also the warmest for her too. This morning she was decked out in all the pink. How much pink is too much pink?
Oh wait, there’s never too much pink!
After the gym my mom and I ran a few errands together. It was so nice to have that time with her. The return I needed to make was a good distance away so we had a lot of time to chat on the drive. She had a list of things to discuss so we didn’t forget. We don’t get much time just the two of us so we had to monopolize.
After that, I came home to nurse Oli girl. Then we took the kids to Barnes and Noble so the boys could spend a Christmas gift card. They loved having a gift card to get to browse, pick, and then spend using their own money. I loved watching them decide- they picked such good things!
This sweet girl happily chewed on her dumbbell so patiently while her brothers shopped.
For one boy, making decisions is so hard. For the other, it couldn’t be easier. It’s wild to watch and see how different they are!
Back at home, snuggling, nursing, and watching the playoffs. Olive now has 6 teeth. She worked so hard over Christmas on cutting them, four at once!
