The boys woke super early this am to ensure they got time with Lee, I didn’t hear them and Lee let me sleep. I was so grateful.
We played and had a slow am and then had TBCØ church at home. Luca and Jack gave Olive horsey rides which she loved.
After lunch, we rode up to get bikes out of the garage. Lee told Olive to remember who drove her first in a truck, hinting at some girl dad thoughts and feelings that made me smile and grateful to get to hear.
These three rode bikes
While I did bubbles with Olive. She was very displeased with the bubbles, they startled her and she was not into them. They seemed to be an inconvenience to her. “Just trying to watch my brothers, why are you blowing things in my face?!”
After dinner, I wanted to go for a walk. It’s perfection at that time of day and I enjoy it so much. This is how Jack dressed for the walk, he’s one of a kind that guy.
Olive fell asleep nursing at bedtime again, and I didn’t hate it.
The smooshy face! 😍
Monday, May 8
I laughed so hard all day at this meme Lee sent me this am.
Our day looked different today because I had a dr appt this am. I dropped the boys at my parents and took Olive with me.
It was a good bit stressful because she didn’t enjoy being at the dr with me or in the car without her brothers. But she’s so cute. Those cheeks.
The boys asked to stay longer at my parents because they were having a blast so I allowed it and took Olive home to nap. She woke with the best curls.
We played until they got back. Then we all did some chores and I made dinner.
Tuesday, May 9
After the gym this day we had lots of school to catch up on. The boys did AMAZING at it. Once we finished, they asked me to make them a scavenger hunt. So I wrote a riddle one; they love scavenger hunts. 😂
Olive drank a ton of water in her new cups, I guess she loves them! After dinner we took a walk. It wasn’t as cool out but we did play corn hole which was fun.
Wednesday, May 10
Olive felt like such a big girl with her new water bottle at breakfast.
New gym goals: listening to my body and scaling appropriately so it can heal. I struggle doing that, mentally, but I know it’s something I need to work on. I read once that a woman’s body takes 2.5 years to fully heal after giving birth! Trying to be mindful of that in a culture that encourages “bouncing back” is hard.
Luca made a poster and asked to send it to Nana. His entire wall is pretty amazing, he’s so creative!
Olive doesn’t like being fed, she prefers to do it all herself.
Doing a grammar lesson and taking a quick break to see if Olive will walk to him.
I went for a walk while my people ate dinner this night and it was so nice. Our week was thrown a bit with a change in Lee’s work schedule and I ran out of veggies so we ran to get more and brought home dinner. If I didn’t walk while they ate, I wouldn’t have been able to go.
There was a gift for Olive in the mail!
Thursday, May 11
I thought Olive looked extra cute and so grown eating her breakfast.
Gym. Scaling back is so hard and unnatural.
Jack’s writing response made us all laugh. He drew himself with huge muscles and daddy with tiny arms.
Both boys play so sweetly with her, I can’t handle it. Luca seems to also enjoy more responsibility and independence when it comes to her, so I try and find ways to give it to him. He watched her while I switched laundry and what I walked back to made my heart swell.
Friday, May 12
We stayed home from the gym this am so I could rest and heal and the boys could get a bit more sleep (they were up in the night).
We played and got school done well before lunch!
I put this tshirt on for the first time in years and wondered if it would be snug in my midsection. Turns out it was only snug in my shoulders 💪🏼
I started teaching Luca how to write a persuasive essay this week and he used his new skills to give a persuasive speech to nana and pops asking for a sleepover. They said yes and my dad picked them up on Friday afternoon. Jack asked if I wanted him to take a picture of himself to look at to remember him while he was gone- with his camera so I didn’t have to even open my phone. Then I asked for some extras on my phone, just to have.
He’s so cute!
Bedtime snuggles.
I propped up this photo (the one Jack took) while we watched a movie.
Lee read this to me and had a good laugh. I had no clue that PowerPoint isn’t called PowerPoint anymore, so how old does that make me?
Saturday, May 13
Since the boys were at my parents, it was just us this am before the gym.
She insisted on snuggling her stuffed animals and rocking them.
Then, one by one, she threw them off the side of the chair.
Waving goodbye to them.
I didn’t do the metcon but walked instead, and my buddy Kai joined me and Olive! It was a sweet walk full of sweet conversations.
After the gym, I went to a cookie decorating event with my gym friends. It was a lot of fun.
Then we all went to dinner to celebrate Mother’s Day. We met my parents and J and Abby there.
I love matching my girl.
Her last photo with her cousin on the inside (for real this time).
We’re big fans of each other.
