We had a slow morning. When Olive woke from her morning nap we went to my parents for lunch. It rained all weekend and was pretty cold, so our bbqing/pool plans shifted a good bit. It was still nice to get to be together.
After lunch, we came home so Olive could nap. Sarah came too and she played Mario Kart with the boys before she flew back home.

It was an early morning trying to get to the gym for 8 this am.
Olive loves drinking water and is also a really big fan of “cheers!”
At the gym we did the Murph, a CrossFit hero workout to honor Lt. Michael Murphy who died in combat in 2005.
1mile run
100 pull-ups 200 push-ups 300 air squats
1 mile run
With a weight vest
I modified that to suit me and Lee did it as written, he got through 3/4 of the middle work. I’m so proud of him. One of our coaches reminded us all that what we do in the workout doesn’t matter, what matters is the why behind what we do. I thought on that during the workout and throughout the day.
Super grateful for these friends.
After the gym, we came home and while Olive napped Lee and I got to sit on the balcony sipping our caffeinated beverages and talk. It was so nice.
After she woke and we ate lunch, we went to a playground because it finally stopped raining!
After the kids were in bed, I called the boys back out and surprised them with brownie sundaes.

At the gym this day, one of the guys we work out with, Johnny, brought his two kids who are 5 and 2. Luca, without me knowing, asked Johnny if he’d like him to entertain them once he finished his school work. I’ve never seen Luca get through school work faster! Then he ran to the kid area where he played and read to them. It was so sweet. On the way home he told me that he has always wanted to do that, watch little kids. Bestill my heart!
We hustled through school after the gym because Olive had a dr appt this afternoon.
She got one shot and blood drawn and didn’t make a peep! She was however determined to get her band aid off.
Olive was up in the night for like two hours, then she didn’t take her usual am nap. I knew she’d miss her afternoon nap because of the dr so when we got home I chose to nurse her hoping she might fall asleep and get some sleep in. It was too late to lay her in her bed. It worked! And I basked in the nursing snuggles.
After her nap, Lee got home and she was crawling all over like a mad woman! She had a burst of energy! He asked her to walk from one chair to another and she did! After she did, she crawled to where her brothers were (playing Pokemon) and hollered at them, as if to tell them that she just walked! It was hysterical. They stopped playing and responded and then I told her to come do it again so they could watch and she did! She kills me!
Jack has a very wiggly top tooth, it’s hanging on by a thread. He’s nervous about losing it but eager for it to come out. He was in the bathroom trying to get it out gently and Luca was coaching him and it was the sweetest thing to listen to. Ultimately, Jack was a bit too nervous to get it out and decided he’d rather wait for it to come out on its own.
Their facial expressions and body language here.

It happened!! While we were eating lunch Jack’s tooth loosened and he ran to the bathroom and pulled it out! Luca and I ran in with him and were cheering and encouraging him and he was so calm. He’s so much like Lee. We were saying, “come on Jack! You got this! Pull it out! You’re so brave!” And he calmly looks up at us and says, “I’m trying.” It made me laugh how excited our tones were and how completely calm his was.
Somehow, he’s even cuter. I want to eat him up!
Olive handed me that bow and put it to her head, asking for me to put it on her. She also loves spinning that chair around and around and around.
Jack made a scene from the Mario movie with his stuffed animals, Donkey Kong vs. Mario. He was being Donkey Kong here.
And Mario here.
And himself here.
I made up this chicken parm recipe that is my favorite, the best chicken parm I’ve ever had in my entire life. Dramatic? Maybe a little. But I stand by it.
Post bath cute.
We went for a post dinner family walk and two friends joined us. The kids stood there and waved at passing cars, hoping they’d honk. When they did honk, they would cheer and get so excited which made me laugh so hard, every time. Kids are the best.
Sweet, teething girl. We stood there for a while because the big kids were having so much fun waving.
Luca included this sweet note and gift for the tooth fairy next to Jack’s tooth. He told me he wanted to thank her and tell her she’s doing a good job. I loved that so much. The boys also set a tooth fairy trap using an old tissue box with cotton candy in it and tape (sticky side up) on top. Their thought was she’d try to get to the cotton candy but get stuck in the tape as she did. Unfortunately for them while she did visit, she didn’t get stuck in their trap.
Thursday, June 1
Olive looked extra cute in her overalls and hair bow. I tried to take a picture but didn’t quite get one. I planned to try after we got home but she needed an outfit change at the gym.
Olive’s third outfit of the day. That sums up the day I think. It was really full- nonstop from the minute I woke up until I went to sleep. Teaching school in one hand, catching her in the other. Luca was working so hard to get her to walk to him. She takes a few steps but that’s it so far.
I had like 10 minutes before I had to start dinner so I chose to sit on the balcony and listen to worship music. It was so peaceful. Then Lee finished working and joined me. I thought he looked extra handsome.
We were laughing because Olive kept turning the sink on with her toes and Lee said she was just like her mother, using her toe gap to accomplish things.
Olive nursed for a really long time this day, but especially this night. She refused to go to sleep and it made the already full day even longer. Finally, she fell asleep nursing at 10 pm.
Friday, June 2
Thursday was such a longggg day, combined with some other things going on- I was completely exhausted this day. We stayed home from the gym and got school done in the am.
Cutie Jack.
We got lots of play time in. Olive also got lots of steps in, she took 8 towards me!
Dancing.
After lunch hangs while I placed grocery orders.
My mom stopped over in the afternoon and she took the boys home for dinner. Olive and I got one on one play time while we waited for Lee to get home.
Multitasking like her momma! Riding her bike and vacuuming.
Saturday, June 3
Selfies after the gym with my girl.
After Olive’s nap we went to a recently renovated park near us to play and catch Pokémon.
It’s wild to me to see how nurturing she is and how innate it is in her. The boys are sweet and sensitive, but not like this. It’s just so cool to get to see God’s design and the differences He put in men vs women.
Playing before the park, looking super cute in her romper.
Olive held that Poke ball all day long.
After the park we went to my parents so Lee could mow their lawn and for dinner.
Olive loved pushing that shopping cart and feeding the baby doll they have.
I took that picture on the right a few days ago and saw so much of myself in her. So when at my parents, I took a picture of my baby self to compare.
