This was our first time seeing Nana after their trip up north and the kids had to be as close to her as possible. 😂
Luca spent most of the day drawing.
We ended our day with a dance party.
Friday, December 22
The sunrise took my breath away this day.
The workout this am was hard.
After lunch, I took the kids to see Santa with my friend Krista. The boys were super curious to see if he was the real Santa. Luca brought a letter he received from Santa earlier this season to ask if he wrote it and he also asked about the gift he gave to Comet. Other than that, both boys froze and didn’t say much at all! (One question Jack wanted to ask was how Cabela’s reached him in the North Pole about this job.) They both decided he wasn’t the real Santa, they said he didn’t look like him and he answered Luca’s questions “suspiciously.” It was a fun and memorable afternoon, with the Santa visit and it was also the boys first visit to Cabela’s- they were in awe of that place!
Olive did great! She sat down, didn’t cry, looked very serious, sat long enough for a posed picture, looked Santa in the eye, then reached out for me and yelled, “Momma!”
Final result!
The afternoon was so much fun, full of so much laughing. I’m so grateful Krista could come with us!
Beside Santa they had a nativity scene.
We got home afterward and Olive requested that both her brothers rock and sing to her before her nap.
I went to finish some Christmas shopping with my mom and Lee sent me this while I was gone.
Saturday, December 23
Olive wouldn’t let Lee eat, she just wanted to hold his hand.
12 days of Christmas workout!
Dada, Momma, Oli girl.
Olive loves Miss Sarah.
After the gym me dropped the boys at my parents for my mom to take them on a secret shopping mission. I baked, got ready, made lunch, then packed up all our gifts and went to my parents to wrap them all. Sarah got there as my mom and I were headed back so we all wrapped and chatted and the hours wrapping went by so much faster and were so nice because we got to do it together. My parents’ neighbors do this amazing grinch themed yard display each Christmas and this year dressed in character to wave to people driving by. It was so fun to watch cars drive by, realize, slow down, stop for pictures, etc. My parents’ neighborhood do Christmas lights so well they attract a big crowd every year. The traffic is no joke!
We talked about how we should’ve done a live nativity (next year!) at my parents and the boys got a head start.
We ate dinner then drove around all in one car to see the lights. I’m obsessed with this picture of Olive and Sarah.
Before we went home Olive ordered Nana and Auntie to sit with her like this and then beamed with joy when they obliged.
