We had quieter snuggles this am since it was just us and Olive. We watched The Belonging Co church from home and moved slowly all morning.
After church Lee went for a run and I made lunch. By the time Lee got back and lunch was made, the boys were back! We rested, watched football, and snuggled the rest of the afternoon.
Jack joined for part of the counter chats while I made dinner.
After nursing her before bedtime, Olive’s delirious giggles and smooches are the best. Lee and I love it.
Monday, January 30
After the gym, I let Olive crawl and be free before her nap.
All she wanted to do was pull the books off of the bookshelf.
Jack’s responsible writing response choice surprised me. I for sure thought he’d write “buy all the sonic toys.”
At lunch, Olive tried avocado toast. She seemed to enjoy it.
After lunch we finished school and did house chores (laundry). At dinner, Luca ate three bite of a cheeseburger! Which was huge!
Praise/dance party before bed.

I had a dr appt this day so it looked a bit different. Lee was off of work and taught the boys while I was at the dr. When I got home, I nursed Oli and then we did lunch. Lee went to get his haircut after that.
The boys asked for something and Jack said, “let’s do our double please faces” and that made me laugh out loud. Here are those “double please” faces.
I did some adulting (paid bills) and the boys kept coming in with mustaches attached to their faces in silly ways.
They later played tattoo parlor (or as they called it “what daddy has on his arm”).
Olive said “no thanks” to her afternoon nap. Watching Lee play girly things is my new favorite.
Because of the dr appt, I missed my am gym time so I went to the 5 pm class. It felt like a treat to get to go solo! And when I got home, Lee had made dinner.
The workout had 35# dumbbell squats and prior to going Lee asked what weight I was going to do. He encouraged me to do the 35s and I told him all the reasons why I couldn’t. But then when I got there I decided to try them. They were hard but I could do it and I was grateful for his encouragement and belief in me.

Gym baby.
After the gym, we play with Olive for a few before her nap. The boys participate too and it’s just such a sweet ten minutes. I asked to take their picture together and Luca suggested they pose in age order.
Luca’s pose idea came out so cute!
Success! She finally pulled books off the shelf.
Olive seems to enjoy downward dog more than crawling; it cracks us up! Sweet gym baby practicing what she sees us do.
At dinner, she devoured her spaghetti and meatballs. She shoved it in herself and yelled at me for not helping her fast enough.
My strong guy, all the heart eyes for him.
Thursday, February 2
Post gym play time.
The boys kept coming up with the most creative ways to use the rainbow pieces. Here they were being Egg man from Sonic with his big mustaches. I wish I could remember all of their other imaginative ideas but I can’t. There were animals, instruments, people, etc.
Olive’s smile changed this week. Insert all the tears. It’s not even that you can see her teeth, but also how she’s smiling. She looks like a toddler and not a baby.
She learned how to drink from a straw this week! Every time she does it, she surprises herself with the water she sucks up. I wonder how long it will take for it to feel more normal/less surprising for her.
Sweet siblings, oldest and youngest, “reading” together.
Oh my heart. He held my hand as we read.
After school, the boys made up a Sonic vs Mario battle game idea. I came up with challenges for them and then in the end I hosted an award ceremony.
Friday, February 3
I was disappointed with how I did in the workout this morning, and I was telling the boys about it on the way home. They were so kind and encouraging to me, telling me I did great, praising the weight I did, and offering wisdom about how I could try again and how I could also pray about it. That was the highlight of my entire day. I wish I could’ve recorded it because the best parts were how their voices sounded as they said it all.
After the gym, I placed grocery orders then made lunch.
We started and finished school after lunch. The boys did great because once they finished, their friend was coming up to play. We all ran to pick up the orders and grab dinner once Lee was out of work.
Saturday, February 4
After the gym play time.
I went out with my mom and Abby this afternoon and Lee stayed home with the kids. He sent me a few selfies with Olive which I loved.
I made dinner and then we rested and played before bed.
