Morning snuggles.
I made a big breakfast this am and everyone seemed to like it.
She was so pumped to be standing up like that (I helped her a little as she pulled herself up).
Waiting for daddy to shower, she crawled to the bathroom door and tried to get in.
Over breakfast we talked about Sabbath and what sounded restful to us and then we practiced some of those things this day (watch the boys put on a performance, color together, rest on the couch, movie snuggles, etc).
Going in for a smooch!
Monday, February 27
I was so impressed with the way Luca drew the hands and feet on this Sonic.
School went so nicely this day, attitudes were good, the boys were teachable, put in good effort, and I felt good/was not distracted by to do’s.
Last week, the boys helped me fold their laundry and afterwards told me it was “their honor” to help. So I went ahead and passed that torch. They did so well too!
At dinner, Lee was reminiscing over the boys hair when they were little and found this on his phone.
Olive was extra sleepy all day and while nursing before bed, she fell asleep. The drop of milk sliding down her cheek kills me.
Tuesday, February 28
I don’t have any pictures from the day except this one. I had this song on repeat all day.
Wednesday, March 1
The few minutes after I nurse her where she happily sits on my lap are some of my very favorite.
I cannot with this smile.
Trying to teach two different math lessons while this is happening is not easy.
Abby sent me this meme and I sent it to Lee and he laughed and said, “that’s you!” It is me and I’m not ashamed!
Shoving alllll the broccoli in like she’s going to run out.
Sweet sleeping boys.
Thursday, March 2
Morning chats and smiles and claps with daddy.
The boys are working through a fear of dogs. The coaches at the gym have two small super sweet dogs that they bring daily. Since we also go daily, the boys have really been able to work through their fears and love Rocky in particular. This day Luca sat beside him relaxing and petting him and he got in the car so excited to tell me. Later, our coach/friend sent me this.
Post nursing smiles. Everyone says she looks like Lee but I still see myself as a baby.
Their sleeping positions kill me. Luca is always in the same position and Jack is always all over the place.
Friday, March 3
We had a slow morning at home, finished school before lunch (woohoo!), and the boys (im)patiently waited for Grandpa and GP to arrive.
This sweet girl.
Olive pulled herself up all by herself and so I cheered for her from the kitchen. The boys heard and came running asking what she did. Then they started cheering too. Genuine excitement and joy and pride for their girl. It was so, so sweet and all I could think about in that moment was how lucky she is to have them. They come running to cheer her on. When she gets older, and faces new challenges, she has two brothers that will drop what they’re doing, run to her, cheer for and encourage her, speak over who she is becoming (Jack told her afterwards in a sweet private moment between the two of them how determined she was), and love her so deeply. I couldn’t unsee that future for her in this moment.
Grandpa is here!
Grandpa and GP joined us at the gym to watch FNL, 23.3. It was so fun to have them there.
I had so much fun doing this workout. They had a special throw down heat for “couples who CrossFit” which meant I got to workout beside Lee (and try my hardest to beat him). While I didn’t beat Lee’s time, I did finish the workout and was super pumped about that. I also really enjoyed the movements and style of workout. My parents came too, which we loved, but sadly didn’t get a picture with them.
Saturday, March 4
I power cleaned 105# at the gym this am and was pumped to do that weight in a workout.
After the gym, we showered and ate lunch and then went to a greenway near by for a walk.
On the property you can peak in the windows of Billy Graham’s grandfathers house and beside it was this lookout over the property. As we were walking to it, Luca saw this and said “that looks like an Indigenous American house!” We’re learning about US History and talking a lot about that, so my teacher self was so excited to hear that!
Right after this picture, the boys were going to walk across this little creek and Jack slipped and fell. He was ok but he got hurt and was soaked. So I carried him on my back (CrossFit for the win) and we went home for showers and snuggles. Then we made dinner and relaxed altogether.
