We went to CCC this morning and it was so great to go back to the church I (we) grew up in. My sweet friend Shelley offered to stay with Olive in the nursery which gave me such peace of mind.
Seeing the kids of all my people together was so incredible. What a gift!
After church we headed to Levi’s birthday party. We got to see Lee’s mom and sister’s new house and it was neat to get to party with Levi.
While Olive was sitting on the counter with Lori, she somehow got into that bag of cookies, quickly grabbed one, took a bite, realized how good it was and quickly took more bites. It was so funny and happened so fast!
Olive was in desperate need of a nap so I took her back to do that and Lee kept the boys at the party. She napped for 3 hours! I eventually woke her to go pick up the boys. It poured this day but while Olive slept, I was able to sit and eat lunch on the covered patio and enjoy the peaceful lake views.
Eventually, my parents and sister came back and we sat together.
Lee sent me these from the party. I love watching kids play this game. It’s so funny!
While in Bolton, we drove past the house we grew up in which looks a good bit different since we moved. And we drove past where Lee proposed and told the boys the story of how he did it.
Shoe twinning with my best girl. It is so neat to match her- especially with shoes since she loves them so much.
After the party, we went back to the house for a low key night.

The lake was so pretty and peaceful. Sarah took these and I just love them.
Olive loved the lake, especially the ducks. Each morning when she woke she pointed outside and rarely wanted to come back in.
She loves to sing, and one day she started to sing and then pointed to my moms phone- asking for her to put some music on. It was so funny!
While Olive napped, Lee and I worked out this am. It was hard on the moving dock, mostly in my ankles as I tried to keep my balance but it was so pretty and was 100% worth it.
Shelley and her girls came over for a bit in the late morning. Olive napped for so long, she slept most of their visit. We sat with our feet in the lake while the kids played and got to talk which was so nice.
Lee so sweetly offered to make us all lunch! It was so neat to be eating lunch with them on a Monday.
Jack’s top tooth was so loose that Shelley took a before picture because we knew it would be coming out that day.
Later that day we went to the Volz for swimming and dinner. It was so nice to be all together.
Surrounded by cheering friends, Jack pulled his tooth out! He lost two teeth this trip! Now, he’s somehow even cuter and I can’t handle how his voice sounds or how his smile looks.
Meg suggested we recreate this photo from 2018. Wild how time flies and how babies don’t keep.
I’m unsure what we were talking about but it makes me laugh to look back at this.
This series of talking about our muscles cracks me up. It ended in us doing various push ups.
It was such a fun night. The boys swam at night (when it was dark) for maybe the first time? And with the kindest friends. I’m so grateful for friendships that grow even though hundreds of miles separate us.
Tuesday, July 18
This morning we went to see Lee’s Grams. She seemed so happy to have us and it was so nice to get to see her. She fed the boys cookies at 930 am and that felt right. (Lee always talks of the cookies she always had growing up.)
We went for a walk and Luca held Otis’s leash for a bit.
Olive woke this am with a runny nose so we spent the rest of the day trying to get her to rest well. Lee and I ran to the grocery store while she napped to grab what we needed for Luca’s birthday. While there we ran into two old friends!
Obsessed with his new smile.
Unfortunately Olive didn’t nap for long for either nap, poor girl was not feeling her best.
It was super windy so we tried out the kites Auntie Amy bought.
My aunt and uncle came by for a visit with my parents and they got to meet Olive and see our boys.
And then we met the Silva’s for dinner! It was so, so nice to see them and hug them without my pregnant belly in the way!
Olive didn’t really sleep this night. Her runny nose turned into full blown congestion so we were up with her much of the night.
