All Olive wants to do lately is reorganize our pantry. She is particularly interested in moving the potatoes.
We spent our Sabbath resting mostly. Lee and the boys went to my parents to mow while Olive took an amazingly long nap.
Monday, July 31
Olive’s legs look so long to me lately.
After the gym, my mom stopped over for a few before an appt.
Olive slept hard for her afternoon nap. She woke and looked so much like baby me it took my breath away. I think it was the all over curls.
Tuesday, August 1
This girl is obsessed with those beef or bison pouches. Obsessed. When we get home, she walks over to the pantry and takes one out. When she gets up from her nap, she walks to the pantry to take one out. She doesn’t care much for the fruit ones, it’s the meat and veggies ones that she loves.
Jack wrote me a love note.
How we feel when daddy walks through the door after work.
Lee’s first ponytail attempt. He made so many faces, I was dying!
After dinner walk. I hope I never forget her little hand feels in mine or how tiny she is walking beside me.
Wednesday, August 2
Cutie girl.
Luca and Olive had well checks this am. I’m so grateful for healthy, thriving children. Keeping Olive contained in the room was no easy task for two back to back appointments. The girl kept licking all the surfaces! LICKING! Oy.
Since we went to the dr in the am, I went to the gym (solo!) in the afternoon. I really wanted to do the benchmark workout they programmed, Isabel. (75#, 3:45) Then after class I ran two miles which was programmed for a class we missed while in CT.
I was hoping for 20 minutes or under for my two miles but my second mile was slower than my first. I had a minor run in with a small dog halfway through the second mile and I was tired. Overall I’m happy with it all things considered. And I wasn’t too far off from my goal so I know it will be doable when I’m fresh.
Thursday, August 3
I had the most beautiful morning this day, full of in my face reminders that God loves me. I wrote it all down so maybe I’ll write it here in a separate post.
At the gym I got my first ever rope climb (to just over halfway) and my sweet Luca cheered for me and all on his own thought to record my attempts. He said he thought to himself “I want her to see what I see.” And man, that line of thought wrecked me all day long. Luca and Jack sweetly told me on the drive from the gym how much they loved me, Luca even spontaneously started praying over me. It was incredible- all of it.
After the gym we had a super chill day at home watching the CrossFit games while it rained all day.
Olive didn’t want to eat so she threw it all over the floor instead. It took forever to clean up, I think we might need a dog.
She reached up on her own and held Jack’s hand and he said, “mom! Mom! Quick!” Because he wanted to be sure I took a picture of it.
The sweetest cards arrived in the mail, this one for Jack just about did me in! So sweet.
While watching the games, Olive just randomly started air squatting on her own! It was hysterical. Then she just kept doing it. She probably did at least 50 reps.
After air squats she programmed the bike.
They’re all obsessed with him and I don’t blame them. I am too. He is the literal best.
Also, Jack is obsessed with wearing socks because it’s “cozy.” He doesn’t care if they match or if one is tall and the other is short. He was pointing out here that he had two pair on one foot, which he thought was hysterical.
Friday, August 4
Olive loves touching the rings.
The boys received a Nana and Pops day date that they cashed in this day. My mom sent this from their lunch.
They dropped the boys back off right as Olive woke from her nap. She looooves my mom and snuggled her so closely and wouldn’t make eye contact with me- I think out of fear I’d take her.
She also kept waving at the games athletes on the TV like she knew them. Earlier in the day when we were watching the team 5k, she all of a sudden started running in place! I couldn’t believe it, I hadn’t said anything about it- she’s just so smart.
Saturday, August 5
Jack woke this am and said he lost his tooth in the middle of the night! He woke, felt something in his mouth, took it out and put it on his desk, then went back to sleep. Haha! So now he has 4 empty tooth holes!
At the gym this day I RX’d the workout and I was so grateful I could and proud that I did. It was hard but I did it. Having Lee as my partner helped a ton too.
Olive loves when she’s free range post workout. And the older kids love her and will follow her and talk to her once she is free too.
She was trying so hard to pick up a wallball and Kai ran to get her a ball she could hold. He’s so sweet to her!
Making coffee with daddy while we watched the games. It was a slow afternoon of that- playing and cheering/watching.
