Easter baskets filled and ready to be hidden.
Early morning basket hunting.
(Chocolate) eggs for breakfast!
Lee got Olive all dressed while I finished getting myself ready. When I walked out of the bathroom and I saw her, smiling so big, reaching for me, all dressed in white- my eyes got wet. I felt so overwhelmed with gratitude that our miracle girl was here with us on Easter. We waited so long for her and it felt so special to celebrate the day with her in our arms. Seeing that miracle, God’s display of love and kindness and authority sitting there before my eyes, so happily on Lee’s lap glowing in her all white- it just felt really special. A tangible miracle and reminder of how deep God’s love is for us, on Easter- the day we pause to celebrate and remember that very thing. It felt like a culmination of gratitude for it all, in that one simple moment.
I had to snag a picture with her as we walked out the door.
We made it to church early!!
I had been praying that Olive would do ok in the nursery so I could sit in church and she did! On the way to church Luca asked some questions about where Olive would go and I shared how I was believing she would do ok in the nursery. As soon as I saw him after church, he immediately asked, “did you get to go??” At first I didn’t realize what he was asking but once I did I was so touched at his thoughtfulness. I keep thinking about it, actually.
Some of our friends from the gym go to church with us so we got a group picture before parting ways for the day.
After church we went to my parents for brunch and Easter fun.
Before we did anything, I tried to get some pictures of us all since we were dressed nicely. Olive, cute as could be, wasn’t in the mood at all for her picture to be taken. The boys did awesome at keeping a good attitude about all the pictures I wanted. And they looked extra handsome in their Easter best.
Goodness I love this sweet family of mine. And I’m grateful we got a few pictures of us all looking and smiling with eyes open!
This series of the boys kills me! They’re so sweet. This was the first year they both enjoyed dressing up. Luca commented after he got dressed that morning about how good he felt in what he was wearing. Jack likes dressing up a bit more than Luca does. You could tell they both enjoyed what they wore, felt comfortable, and I think they also enjoyed appeasing their momma.
After pictures, I made pancakes with the cutest helper.
Olive kind of accidentally found her egg on the way up to her nap. It was so funny how it happened so naturally and how excited she got when she saw it.
My parents fill eggs for all their grandkids to hunt each year, and the boys love it and look forward to it. They were ready!
After the egg hunt, my mom bought wooden eggs for us all to paint. It was really fun to get to do that together.
Our family of eggs.
Post nap giggles.
After that we headed home and got on zoom to talk as one big family. We also did communion that way all together too. I think that might’ve been my favorite part of the day.
It was a great Easter. I’m so glad we had Olive with us on the outside this year. Last year, on Easter I was a day past her due date and a bit sad/mad about it.
